The Queer Nonprofit Project

Welcome to the homepage for my fundraising adventure! As I travel the country, I’m highlighting and fundraising for a different LGBTQ+ nonprofit in each city. Follow along on Instagram and scroll down for previous cities’ selections.

Cleveland, OH

Margie’s Hope

Margie’s Hope was founded in 2011 by Jacob Nash. Our history and purpose has been to enrich the lives of Transgender, Non-Binary, and Gender Expansive people in the community. Margie’s Hope offers resources and support through our community programs and our not for profit resale store, Margie’s Closet.

Cincinnati, OH

Love Must Win

Love Must Win is a Cincinnati based non-profit dedicated to promoting love and acceptance for all.  We do this through a number of programs such as GLAST (Gays and Lesbians Achieving Sobriety Together), Hearts and Hugs, Arts Must Win, and more.  We hosted Lawrenceburg Pride before it became its own entity this year and continue to provide sober events and sober zones.  We also run a community assistance fund through GLAST that provides emergency funds for sober living, and limited funds for transportation and food assistance to those in the sober LGBTQIA+ community in crisis.

QUEERSPACE Collective

Minneapolis, MN

QUEERSPACE Collective was launched in April 2021 and is the first mentorship program specifically created for LGBTQ+ youth in Minnesota. Their mission is to "create space for LGBTQ+ youth to feel safe and empowered to be their true selves” by focusing on two things: supporting LGBTQ+ youth and educating through consulting and advocacy. Their youth mentorship program involves 1:1 mentoring with a diverse array of mentors, extensive mentor screening, and ongoing support from staff. They also provide monthly hangouts facilitated by their staff and dedicated to building community between LGBTQ+ youth and adults. And they also give support and information to the caregivers of those youth.
